Goni Alhaji Shettima

Goni Alhaji Shettima was born on the 24th January, 1965 in Korede, Dambo’a Local Government Area of Borno State.


Goni attended Korede Primary School, Dambo’a Local Government Area from 1973 to 1979 for his Primary Education where he obtained Primary School Certificate.

He attended Government Secondary School Dambo’a for his secondary education from 1981 to 1986, where he obtained West African School Certificate (WASCE). He attended Federal Polytechnic Mubi, Adamawa State from 1990 to 1992 where he obtained National Diploma (ND) Certificate in Business Administration. He was also at Ramat Polytechnic Maiduguri from 1999 to 2001 for his Higher National Diploma where he obtained Higher National Diploma (HND) Certificate in Business Administration.

Goni obtained other certificates as Diploma Certificate in computer from Stepro Computer Institute in 2005; Professional Managers and Administrators of Nigeria Certificate in 2011, and Public Diplomacy and Management Certificate in 2012.

Working Experience

Goni Alhaji Shettima joined the service of Borno State Civil Service in the Office of the State Auditor General on 24th January, 1989 as Clerical Assistant (Audit). He grew through the ranks and promoted up to Chief Executive Officer (Audit) GL.14 in the 2012.

He worked as Audit Inspection Team Member and Team Leader at different Ministries and Departments in the Directorate of Government Accounts Audit (DGA); Directorate of Projects Verification and Final Accounts Audit (DPVFA) from 1992 to 2013. He became Acting Assistant Director (2013 to 2018), Acting Deputy Director (2018 to August 2020), and later Director (from September 2020), all in the Directorate of Parastatals Audit (DGA).


Goni Alh. Shettima is married with children.
